The 4-agent pipeline: engineering with formal rigor

Basis Network

No other blockchain project has an R&D system with 4 AI agents that take every component from hypothesis all the way to formal mathematical proof.

Building a blockchain is complex. Building one that is formally correct is an order of magnitude harder. Most teams rely on external audits that review the code after it has been written. We turn the equation around: first we prove it is correct, then we implement it.

The 4 agents

Scientist. The first agent generates hypotheses about the protocol design, runs controlled experiments and produces quantitative evidence. Every architecture decision is backed by data, not intuition. More than 60 experiments completed.

Logicist. The second agent takes the validated hypotheses and translates them into formal specifications in TLA+. It then runs exhaustive model checking, exploring millions or billions of possible states to verify that no invalid state is reachable. 18 specifications verified, with more than 1.5 billion states explored.

Architect. The third agent implements the verified specifications in production code. Every function maps 1:1 to the TLA+ specification it came from, preserving full traceability.

Prover. The fourth agent certifies correctness through formal proofs in Coq. The refinement theorem proves that the implementation is faithful to the specification.

Safety Latch

No line of code enters the kernel unless its TLA+ specification has passed exhaustive model checking. This rule is not a suggestion; it is a technical prerequisite. The result: a level of engineering rigor comparable to aerospace and nuclear standards.
